What is POP?
Writers are invited to submit a play of up to 10 minutes in length, the names of volunteer actors are drawn out of a hat, and then we’re off to the races as the actors attempt to perform a play they’ve never read or seen before! Anyone can participate as a writer or actor… or watch the fun as part of the audience!
Join us at 6:30 p.m. for a drink from the bar and to mingle with fellow patrons. At 7:00 p.m. the POP competition starts on stage and the fun begins for audience members, volunteer actors, and writers alike!
POP is a free event, but drink sales help us keep the lights on, so do us a favor and wet your whistle while you’re here.
POP is intended for adults aged 18 and up; some language and themes may be of an adult nature.
Pop is for Everyone!
POP is a wonderful opportunity to share your creative writing in a fun and interactive way! As we exhibit the vibrant writing of our KCTG community, please keep in mind that the actors and audience may have different views than the playwright. Our goal is to foster an environment of comfortable fun for all involved, regardless of religion, age, race, creed, gender, or political ideology.
We can't wait to hear some great scripts at the next POP event. Remember to keep things light and considerate of all the members of our community. Please enjoy the show and keep coming back!
